Quick One
I’m finally short-blogging!!! Starting off the year right, hehe.
Diella is suddenly… not Diella. The other day, totally out of nowhere, she says, “My name is Pal, not Diella.” So I laughed, we both laughed. Then a little while later she says, “I’m Nate, Uncle Nate.” Haha, ok Bond, James, Bond!!! And I think she even did this another time, the following day, but I don’t remember which name she said that time, but it still cracks me up!
The other night I was brushing her teeth (she does some, I do some, so she’s being independent, but I still help so its thorough), and she says “you forgot the sides.” Lol, I mean, I just hadn’t gotten to them yet, but she’s here, correcting me, HAHA!
Ok, this is hard to explain… she’s been using phrases with the word “without.” But they don’t always make sense. I think its cool that she kinda knows where she’s goin with it, but not really… like she said SOMETHING like… “I cant pee without getting wet” or something? Lol, random! And even MORE random… once we were drivin in the car and she says, “the trees cant talk without faces.” LOL! Ya got a point there, Diella! I think on one show that she watches, some trees have faces & talk, but I thought it was hilarious that she came up with that!
I said in the last blog how Diella counts in order, but has a hard time actually counting objects (cuz for example, if there’s 5 things, she’ll count the 5 of them, but then keep counting, like to 7 or whatever number). Well, she’s getting better at actually counting now! Like I was doing simple things, like asking her to count my eyes, my ears, my nose, etc. and she would say either “two ears” or “just one” that kind of thing. Then when we got to my fingers, she counted the ten of them, putting her finger on each one at a time, perfectly! Yay!
She started singing, “Bingle bells, bingle bells” the other day! HAHA! Random, and hilarious!
I said in the last blog how she is trying to communicate “right side up” but has said “upside up”… she’s done it a few more times… I love it! One’a those ones that I wont correct her on, hehe.
Today it struck me funny…. She said, “I need some help here.” She must just hear these phrases in casual, everyday talk, and just pick them up that fast!?!?!
I think in the last blog I said that if her sock or pants are twisted, or other little things she notices aren’t perfect, she was saying, “somethings wrong”… well now she says “there’s something not quite right” That is hilarious! How she phrases things like a grown up! Ah!
She also says a lot lately… if we say to her something like “you’re so your dad” or “you’re a goob” just joking around, she says, “no I’m not, I’m Diella!” That cracks me up! Cuz she doesn’t realize we’re not telling her she’s anything other than Diella, its just that… oh you get the point.
Last night she was playing with this game, similar to scrabble, that has all square pieces with letter on them. The piece with the letter Q on it, also has the joining you, like Qu. Well, she’s laying all the letters out, and she comes to this one, and goes “I don’t like this letter” and she sets it aside, apart from the rest. I think it bothered her that it had that extra letter on it, and it wasn’t a single letter like the rest of them. Sigh* Is she gonna get worse at this OCD thing, in the name of Jesus, I hope not! Perfectionism, I can handle, OCD, I cannot. I guess we’ll see!
And lastly, Diella is saying “I love you” a lot lately! She has always said it back, when someone says it first. But lately, every time you pick her up or ask for a kiss, she initiates the saying first, and says I love you. Even lately doing the kissing & hugging first too! How affectionate she is becoming!!! Often times, “I love you mommy” or even “I love you So much” … these are just moments a mom treasures for ever and ever!

so strange how many similar things these girls do. I mean, specifically the same. I know I've said it b4 but it always surprises me how similar!
