Learning Every Day

How does this happen? I have no clue... but it didnt seem to bother her (yes I fixed her leg after I took the pic, so she could peacefully finish her nap) Such an angel baby!

I put my hoodie on her, and thought she looked so cute! She seemed to enjoy it! (except when I put the hood up, hehe)
Monkey See, Monkey Do! Diella is copying her cousins Jeff & Jasmine. Not even sure what they were doing, but I love seeing her play copy cat!

I took a few other pictures, like some of dada tossing her in the air & catching her... she Loves it! In the pix it looks like she's a mile in the air (cuz of the angle) But I posted some on MySpace and everyone's comments are like they're afraid to even look at them, so I decided to not put them on here & possibly freak all of you out too.

*Diella has this new laugh, that we are in love with! Of course it will be hard to describe on here, but its this open-mouth laugh and really like Ha ha ha. A LITTLE bit of a grunt in there too, its absolutely adorable! You cant Not laugh back, when she does it!

*We say, "Diella, why are you so cute?" - She shrugs, hehe I love that! And when we ask her a question she doesnt know the answer to, she turns her hand up... like when you hold both hands out, like 'where is it' or 'I dunno' ... like that, with one hand, flipped over.... cute!

*Did I blog that she is officially running? It's official! This girl can book it!

*I noticed something today, I've said before how she likes to bring us adult shoes and put them on... she still does, but I noticed today that she always brings me a Pair! So does that mean she's making matches?? I'll hafta test that out with some similar things one'a these days.

*There are a few new words she's gotten! As you know, Diella still has a hard time saying things crystal clearly... but she's getting better with at least trying different sounds... like she says Doggy!!! That was a big one, I was excited! She's finally learned where her eyes are, but only when we ask her to Blink her eyes, not just where are they... and so we taught her the word Eyes, and she's got that one! But sometimes leaves the 's' off, just eye... hehe... and with all the blue berries that my parents have been picking from our backyard lately (literally gallons & gallons this season)... Jake has been trying to teach her the word ''berry' and she's close :)

Quick One

This is my BEAST little girly, pickin up TWO horseshoes! She walked them over to me as I click click clicked as she came, and the determination on her face was incredible! Not to mention the pained look "Ooo these are heavy" .... muscles!!!

She finally took a bow yesterday, like Ahna has been trying to teach her :) My parents, the 3 of us, and the Stickel family all ate out on the deck last night, and after dinner we watched the kids be goofy, and as we laughed and applauded for silly things that Diella was doing, Ahna said 'take a bow' and she did! Hilarious!

Also this night, I asked the family if we could play a quick game, sort of a test to see if Diella would pass.... we all sat in a circle around her, and asked her "Where's ___?" and went through each person, Ahna, Papa, Dada, Aunt Alethea, Uncle Jer, Jasmine, Caeden, Jeff, Colton, & Mommy.... the first half of us she got quickly & easily, then I think she got bored with it, cuz the last few, she'd look over at that person and sort of identify them with her eyes, but not walk over to them... so we knew she knew, but she was just done answering such Simple questions! hehehe

I've told you all how she rolls her toes, well she still does, but we've noticed that she often does it when we say hello to her, almost like she's waving with her feet, its so funny! And she does it alot! Even one morning when I got her from her crib, laying on her back, she sticks one foot in the air & rolls those little toes at me, like a little foot greeting, silly girl!

And Diella is saying MommIE.... still Mama too, but yesterday she couldnt stop repeating, Mommie, mommie, mommie.... I think it was just more fun for her to say, that she discovered how to do it, rather than just saying my name just beacuse... but it was still great to hear!!!

Oh yea, and she says Buh Bye!!!! Yaaaaaay!!! :)

Short One

When I take Diella in front of a full length mirror, I ask her, who is that? She'll just smile, but then I say go give her a kiss, and she'll kiss herself :) hehe... now she does it almost every time she sees a mirror, lol, I hope I havent created a monster!

I Love this about Diella.... she is part girly girl & part tom boy... she loves to play with cars & trucks & ride the tractor... but she also loves to put on bracelets & necklaces & fancy shoes! I'm so glad she likes both!!

Ahna is trying to teach Diella how to take a bow... she did it once, and she's almost got it down, but we'll get the hang of it... its cute!

And lately, (oh I GOTTA get a pic of this!)... if she's really upset or really happy, she puts both hands on her face... like all dramatically, if she's crying, like "Oh no!" hands on face... or like giddy happy, hands on face, like Eeeee!!

There are a bunch of things we're working on, that I'll let you know when we've accomplished them... like the sign for Amen.... like colors, face parts, more animal sounds, lots of things!.... Oh yea!!... she learned in one try (and has done this consistently ever since) how to do pinchers with her hands when we ask her 'what does a crab do?' Its cute!

I did a little mini photoshoot with her this morning, and these 4 are just a few of the best that I took, there are a few more on MySpace of course, and I wanna do more!!! People keep telling me to enter them into contests, and I'm starting to think that this little gorgeous girl could win some stuff with that pretty little face of hers!!!

Soooo Much!!!

There were so many pictures taken the past few days! And So Many new things we learned!! This was just a fun one, sittin in daddy's guitar case!

One morning I took a big sigh, then Diella copied, so I tried again & she copied again! I love this monkey-see monkey-do stuff!

She has a word for bunny... it's bucky... but at least she's trying! She and I both have bunny slippers, and I'll get a picture soon of us both wearing them... but I'll ask her to go get the bunny slippers and she loves to wear them together! Oh then she kisses my bunnies on the mouth :)

Craziest thing lately with Diella, she understands EVERYTHING I'm saying... like she wore these jamies the other night that have a hippo on em, so I say "Diella, go show Ahna your jamies" ... and she walks over to Ahna and looks down at her jamies!... Then yesterday (dressed up for church) I said, "Diella, I like your dress" She looks down at her dress and points to it!! I have never taught her the words dress, or jamies, or 'go show Ahna' !!!!.... AND tonight at then end of her bath, I said, "ok, pull the plug out" (to let the water drain)... sure enough! She reaches down and does it!!! This girl just KNOWS!!!

She does these few cute little things that I dunno what they mean yet. She does this slow, flirty blink... no clue why, but its hilarious & adorable! And also this repeated shoulder shrug... I dont think she's shrugging 'I dunno' but who knows? And she touches the back of her head sometimes, and she's looking into my face like she's trying to communicate something to me, but I havent the slightest what she's tryin to get at...

We play this new game... I decided that Diella and I were gonna share secrets! So I say Diella, let me tell you a secret... and she's learned how to put her ear up to my mouth & I just go pss pss pss... she smiles... then I say, now you tell Me a secret & I put my ear to her mouth... she doesnt do anything, but I giggle like she told me something funny.... I Love This Game With Her!!

And a few new things we've written down that she's finally gotten the hang of! She can find her ears when we ask her where they are! (still not eyes, nose or mouth yet, only someone else's nose... weird)... but she also finally has the animal sounds down for a horse & a dog! She'll just make this high pitched sound for a horse, and I've taught her how to pant like a dog, instead of bark.... we're still working on a lion's roar... and the rest of the parts of the face, but she's doing really well I think!!




Not in focus, but she Brought me this blue bin & I asked her if she wanted to go in there... she nodded, I handed her her binky & blanket (it was about nap time)... and I swore she was gonna fall asleep in there... but she didnt, it was just for fun!










Ahna was showing me how to write! And I scribbled on my own for the first time!!! Mommy dated it & kept it!

Diella learned how to open the dish washer, and then she decided to climb up & sit on the door... ummm great... well there are knives within reach, so we're not for that, no... so now we have to keep the lock on the washer latched.... sigh*

Yes, I put another set of fake teeth in her mouth, but these ones dont look half as bad as the last pair... you just Cant make this girl look anything less than beautiful!

These shots were cool, but didnt come out as nicely as I had planned... but still, this girl makes any picture look good!

I could NOT get her to look at the camera, but you should see a good angle of her in this hat! It's one that mommy wore when she was a baby! SO Cute on her!!!

"Aunt Alethea, can I have some'a your chicken??!!" And then she just took a big bite! So funny! She even did fine chewin it all up! She likes meat, yay!

Blows Me Away!

Havent taken any new pix since last blog, so here's one of Ahna with the babies!!!

I havent been blogging much lately because nothing has been new, then all of a sudden, she did so many new things! One is that she's practically running! I wouldnt say officially yet, but this girl MOVES!

Last night she kept whispering this word, and I dunno where she got it or why she was saying it, but it was Clear As Day, "Happy" and she said it over & over... and we'd ask her to say happy, and she'd say it again! Funny thing is, she only whispers it, hasnt said it out loud, haha!

My mom says she loves how Diella has been so distinctly communicating, like yesterday the two of them were in the laundry room (where Diella gets her baths)... and she pointed to the utility sink (where we bathe her) and she said & signed bath... she was ASKing for a bath! So I gave her one!

Ok, Diella loves water & she loves milk! But funny thing is, she wont take milk from a sippy cup... to Diella, water comes in a sippy cup, milk comes in a bottle... i want to get her away from the bottle soon... i tried once before, and again last night, putting milk in a sippy cup, she took it, stared at it like 'thats Not water' then took a sip, then looked at it again, and handed it back... it confuses her... dangit! it was funny tho! Hehe, we'll keep trying...

Oh there's a few animals sounds she's trying... she tries to Meow, she tries to whiney like a horse... she panted like a dog the other day, but its not consistent...

she sorta does the sign for baby, but it looks like the same thing she does for love, so i'm not sure

She made me cry yesterday! We were in the car, dada, me & Ahna... trying to keep Diella occupied on a slow, backed-up street... we were going through eyes ears nose mouth, that kind of thing... when Diella gives hugs or kisses out, we say "aw" and "thats nice!" and lately she's been wrapping her arms around herself and moving side to side, (I've never tried to teach her the sign for love) but now when we ask her if she loves something, she does this... so then we asked her to say love, and she puckers up and reaches toward mommie for a kiss, so I bend down & give her a kiss, and she crosses her arms in front of her & then points right to me!!! Never taught her how to say I love you, and she just did it!!! I felt SOOOO Loved!!! Me & Ahna's mouths drop open, I throw my hands over my mouth & had immediate tears... it was the greatest feeling! Then she did it a second time... such a special moment!!!

I feel like there's a few things I'm forgetting, but I'll keep you posted!

Number 8!!!

Diella got the sign for Thank You!!!! Finally!!! That's the eighth sign she's learned!!! Yay! Did it last night!

When I wake her up each morning lately, the first thing she does is smile really big, like her funny face smile, then stick her foot up towards me & roll her toes, funny girl!

Ya know the game Papa taught her, to touch this, then that, etc.... well its her favorite! Now she even plays it by herself! Went to the grocery store yesterday & she was so good! She was walking in this aisle, touching (but not knocking over) item by item, it was so cute!!

And lately I put her in this big blue chair that spins, and I took her hands and put them on the arms and said "Hold on tight" ... and i would spin her & she loves it! I would say "Weeeeee!" and now when she wants a ride on it, she points to it & makes this high sound, like weeee, and i help her up & say hold on tight & her lil arms reach to each side grab the chair tight, and off we go!
